A picture of a clean install beats a hundred promises. On this page we show actual transformations from homes around Hempstead and Long Island: the rusted-out furnace that quit in January, the AC that never cooled the upstairs, the heat pump that sliced a winter electric bill nearly in half. Every project below follows the same Garrison Standard: written price first, work done by the book, site left clean, and a repair guaranteed in writing for a full year.
Styles & brands we work with

Recent Transformations
Rusted 1993 Furnace Removed, High-Efficiency System Installed
The problem: a 30-year-old furnace with a cracked heat exchanger had been limping along on weekly resets, and parts were no longer manufactured for it. What we did: removed the old unit, corrected a flue-pitch issue the previous installer had left, and installed a modern high-efficiency furnace sized with a proper load calculation, not a guess. The result: the homeowner’s gas usage for the following winter dropped by roughly a third, and the new unit runs quiet enough that they can hear themselves think in the basement.
Heat Pump Installation in a 1970s Split-Level
The problem: a split-level home heated by baseboard electric was spending over $600 some winter months, with no cooling at all in summer. What we did: installed a cold-climate ducted heat pump with a new plenum transition and insulated the existing ductwork that had been leaking into the crawl space for decades. The result: the family now has real air conditioning for the first time, and their heating bill is roughly half what it was on the old electric baseboards.
Furnace Repair After a Failed Igniter
The problem: a furnace that had worked fine for years suddenly refused to light, and the homeowner was running space heaters in a cold house with two small kids. What we did: diagnosed a failed hot surface igniter in under an hour, verified the flame sensor and gas valve were still healthy, and replaced the igniter with a factory part matched to the unit. The result: heat was back on that same afternoon. Since the repair carries a written guarantee for a full year, if that igniter fails again in that window we return at no charge.
AC Repair: Refrigerant Recharge and Coil Cleaning
The problem: an AC unit ran all day and only dropped the house temperature about five degrees, with ice forming on the copper line. What we did: recovered the remaining refrigerant to check the charge, repaired a small leak at a worn Schrader core, recharged the system to the manufacturer’s exact specification, and then washed the condenser coil. The result: the home now reaches set temperature within about forty minutes on a hot afternoon, and the delta-T across the coil is right where it should be, roughly twenty degrees.
Ductless Mini-Split Replacing Window Units
The problem: a Cape Cod on the north side of Hempstead cooled the downstairs with three old window units that sounded like jet engines and did nothing for the upstairs bedrooms. What we did: installed a two-zone ductless mini-split heat pump, one wall unit downstairs and one in the primary bedroom, with the outdoor unit mounted on a pad. The result: the house now cools evenly and quietly, and the units heat in spring and fall when the boiler would have over-shoot the whole house.
